The Ladies of Vogue!

The Fashion Bible!

Last night I was invited to Vogue for their annual Style Radar Conference. When you get an invitation from Vogue you definitely don’t pass it up. I had an amazing time and was treated to prosecco, seared tuna, salmon, and decadent sweet treats. It was remarkable! I felt absolutely pampered. Even though I was the only male attendee I was right at home.  Anne Vincent the Merchandising Director gave us a precise presentation of the Spring Trends of 2011. Some of which I would like to share with you.

Bold, strong colors are in. Mix them all up!  This was really led by Marc Jacobs. He was the leader of this seventies revival we are seeing for this Spring. Bring out the oversized sunglasses, the vibrant colors, the oversized and floppy hats, the flower in the hair, and those high-waisted jeans. Bold colors were also seen in Rodarte’s collection.

There are some new “Blacks”, the Desert Beige and White. Neutrals are amazing. White was seen in Alexander Wang and Michael Kors collections. White is great to accessories with and a great basic.

The length of the dress went to the knee for Spring, but for Fall we are going to see even longer dresses. Wear that dress that hits the ankle!

A sporty vibe is happening with Rag and Bone and Alexander Wang. It’s called the “Chic Sporty Look”.

In Denim we are seeing more of a trouser jean. Get rid of those loose-fitting, low waisted jeans. The high waist is in!

The newcomers that are really making a statement are Rag and Bone, Alexander WangProenza SchoulerPrabal GurungAltuzarra, and Rodarte.

So that’s it! Love Vogue!!! I could have slept there.
